What a weekend! We jumped on the bikes yesterday and rode out to the Dublin Dr Pepper plant. Some backstory on why we went to Dublin: the bottling plant there makes is famous for making the soda using pure cane sugar instead of the normal corn syrup which of course makes the soda taste better. Well there was a huge drama about labelling and marketting that made everyone think that Dr Pepper was going to close that plant. So, off we went to see it before it was closed. End of backstory. It was a very relaxing ride with a couple of good friends. I should say that Daddy drove support while the rest of us rode out to Dublin. His foot is still in a boot for the next 6 weeks so no riding for him. Backstory number 2: Daddy has to wear a protective boot for the next 6 weeks because he has a hairline fracture in one of the bones in his foot. It happened when he stepped on a Christmas bulb near near the driveway. (Yes. You read that correctly.) A tiny Christmas bulb caught his foot at just the right angle to break one of the bones. End of backstory #2. Anyway, we checked out the plant museum and grabbed a couple of bottles of soda. Then off to the hotel and food. We wandered over to a local barbque place and had some of the best barbque I've ever tasted. We got back this morning after another nice relaxing ride back home. We had just enough time to grab something light to eat and then start getting ready for a show. We purchased tickets to go see "Wicked" several weeks ago. Well, we just got back a few minutes ago. It was the second time for both of us and it was just as good the second time around. I read the book a couple of years back and I recommend it. It gives a little more detail that the play just doesn't have time to go into.
I figured I would do a quick update while Daddy was getting ready for bed. G'nite everyone!
